i sent your girl message, said, “i’ll see you when i can”
my brown nike ace 83s are the shoes i wear the most out of the eight or nine pair that i own. i can slip them on, because they’re fairly loosely laced, but they’re tight enough that they never slip off. they’re pretty beaten up by this point, but the brown does a good job of hiding the damage. they just feel and look good, and are casual enough to pass for nice. i bike to work, too, and they’re comfortable and light enough to be perfect.
i feel like if you’ve ever owned, or ever cared, about Air Jordans, you have a favorite pair and colorway. mine is the Jordan XII. as a kid, i loved the red and blacks. these were the only Jordans i owned as a kid, and man, i was into them. now that i’m grown, though, i prefer the black and white— dominant black, dominant white, i don’t care. i like the simplicity. i don’t really wear highs, though, and these are 200 on eBay, so guess what i don’t own?
my favorite shoes, as far as style goes, is nike’s air force 1. i only own one pair right now, a black on dark-white (it’s patterned), and i dig them, but they aren’t as comfortable (or broken in?) as my ace 83s. but, there are so many colorways and designs to af1s that i would be perfectly fine with going out and buying ten pair in ten different colors. assuming i were rich, of course. i don’t have 1500 bones to drop on shoes.
there are black on black af1s with gummy soles that, at a distance, look like church shoes. white on white is always a classic, and matches almost everything. a nice tan goes with khakis. the possibilities are almost endless. it’s just a very handsome shoe.
i should probably break my pair in properly, but i’d hate for them to end up like my ace 83s, with the toe all warped and sides beaten up.
i should really wear more of my shoes than i do, but considering how often i go out trying to impress somebody (rarely), i’m comfortable circulating between my ace 83s, af1s, and some camo pumas i picked up a few years back.
