A half hour later, when I asked why the reception was shut down, he said simply “Liquor on the premises.” There were indeed what looked like mixers out and none of the guests denied that there was alcohol. However, angry family and guest argued in disbelief that the violation could justify throwing out the fifty or so guests in the middle of the reception.
